Chickpea Saag

Ingredients

🔹 1/2 teaspoon jeera
🔹 2 onions, finely chopped
🔹 8 cloves garlic, minced
🔹 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
🔹 1½-inch green chilli , finely chopped
🔹 2 tomatoes, chopped
🔹 1 tbsp ground turmeric
🔹 1/4 tbsp cayenne pepper
🔹 1/8 tbsp ground cloves
🔹 1/8 tbsp ground cinnamon
🔹 Sea salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste
🔹 2 big bunches fresh spinach, washed & drained
🔹 1 scoop Origin Nutrition Vegan Protein (Unflavored)
🔹 600 gm cooked chickpeas
🔹 1 tbsp lime juice

Method

  1. Add jeera, ginger garlic paste, chillies, onions & tomatoes to the heated oil.
  2. Let it turn mushy and soft.
  3. Add the spices, salt and pepper. Cook for 10 minutes till the masala is nicely cooked.
  4. Add the spinach.
  5. Let it cool.
  6. Add a scoop of Unflavored Origin Nutrition Vegan Protein and 1 cup of water. Grind into a fine paste.
  7. Transfer to a pan & add the boiled chickpeas.
  8. Let it simmer & mix well.
  9. Enjoy it with breads, rotis & parathas!
