Vegan Meat Pie


For the filling
6-7 button mushrooms
100 gm spicy smoked tofu
1 onion
1/2 tsp ginger paste
6 cloves of garlic
4 green chilies
1 scoop Origin’s Unflavored protein
1/4 tsp fennel seeds
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt to taste

For the Dough
1 cup flour
1/2 cup vegan butter
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup water (as required)


For the filling

  1. In a pan, heat up some oil. Add the fennel seeds.
  2. Add onion, ginger, garlic and green chilies. Saute for 3-4 minutes and add your spices.
  3. Add finely chopped mushrooms, smashed tofu, salt & sugar. Cook until the mushrooms are soft.
  4. Set it aside to let it cool

For the Dough

  1. Don’t knead the dough too much. The less you knead, the flakier it will be.
  2. Add butter to the flour to form a crumbly texture.
  3. Add water to form a semi soft dough.
  4. Make the dough as shown in the video.
  5. Bake using Oven (190C for 10-12 minutes) or kadai (22 minutes).
  6. If you are using an oven, bake at 190C for 10-12 minutes
