Vegan Meat Pie
Ingredients
For the filling
6-7 button mushrooms
100 gm spicy smoked tofu
1 onion
1/2 tsp ginger paste
6 cloves of garlic
4 green chilies
1 scoop Origin’s Unflavored protein
1/4 tsp fennel seeds
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt to taste
For the Dough
1 cup flour
1/2 cup vegan butter
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup water (as required)
Method
For the filling
- In a pan, heat up some oil. Add the fennel seeds.
- Add onion, ginger, garlic and green chilies. Saute for 3-4 minutes and add your spices.
- Add finely chopped mushrooms, smashed tofu, salt & sugar. Cook until the mushrooms are soft.
- Set it aside to let it cool
For the Dough
- Don’t knead the dough too much. The less you knead, the flakier it will be.
- Add butter to the flour to form a crumbly texture.
- Add water to form a semi soft dough.
- Make the dough as shown in the video.
- Bake using Oven (190C for 10-12 minutes) or kadai (22 minutes).
- If you are using an oven, bake at 190C for 10-12 minutes
